Library Night at the Movies

On Friday, June 29th a special One Book One Island event took place in Charlottetown. City Cinema, a local movie theatre, hosted an event called "Library Night at the Movies". The public was encouraged to come watch The Lady - a film set in Burma and based upon the life of democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi. Thanks to those who attended the viewing and those who provided prizes. Viewers went home with a copy of Burma Chronicles by Guy Delisle, this year's One Book One Island selection; a limited edition One Book One Island book bag; a movie poster; or a t-shirt, donated by Marian White, CUSO International's Public Engagement Officer in Charlottetown.
Even if you missed Library Night at the Movies, you can still read Burma Chronicles by visiting any public library throughout the province. More One Book One Island events will be occurring throughout the summer so check the Library's Facebook and Twitter pages for regular updates!
