What is it?
Interlibrary loan is a service provided by the PEI Public Library Service. This service allows library users to borrow a book or journal article not available in our system from another library.
What can I request?
- Books at least 2 years old and not owned by the PEI Public Library Service
- Copies of magazine articles
How do I request an item?
Fill out and submit our online Interlibrary Loan Request Form or print and bring a hard copy of the form to your local library.
How many items can I request?
Library users can have a maximum of 3 requests at one time.
How long until I receive my request(s)?
Interlibrary loans take approximately 2 to 6 weeks to fill. You will be notified by mail, phone or email when your item(s) arrives.
How long can I keep my request(s)?
The loan period for Interlibrary loans is 3 weeks. Items cannot be renewed. Regular overdue charges are applied if items are returned late.
